Newell Beach is ideally situated, and only a short drive from Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, and the Daintree River and Rainforest. 

Lined with palms, this pristine beach offers views across the Coral Sea to the holiday village of Port Douglas, Low Isles, and Snapper Island.  The beach is 2.5km long, with a gentle slope, and white sands.  You will often have the beach to yourself, and a must-see is a beautiful sunrise.  Enjoy the sea views or mountain views of the majestic Great Diving Range which encircles as far as the eye can see.  Families will enjoy the extensive parkland adjacent to the beach, with playground and barbeque facilities.

Newell offers a selection of accommodation including fully self contained units, and absolute beachfront houses and villas.  Newell has become highly sought after for property investors, owners and of course holiday makers in recent years.  It is a great place to stay – quiet and peaceful.  Recreational fisherman are catered for with fishing from the beach, or boat ramps at the northern and southern end of the beach for fishing in the estuaries.  There are reefs just off the beach, or you can head out o the nearby islands and Great Barrier Reef, or take a short drive to the Daintree river and try to catch a Barramundi.

Newell also boasts an 18 hole golf course with very reasonable rates.   On the beach front there is a convenience store where you can purchase anything from the daily paper, to the best fish and chips in North Queensland.  Or you can take a 3 minute drive into the sugar town of Mossman, which is the commercial centre of the shire.  Locally grown produce includes exotic tropical fruit, Daintree tea, and sugar from the Mossman mill.
