Conceived by award-winning Australian architect, Gabrielle Poole, the Blue House’s exterior is refreshingly contemporary and geometric, contrasting daringly but in complete harmony with its surroundings. Extensive use of glass provides a great window on the tropical environment. A large sweeping external timber sundeck with white sails and a saltwater pool provides generous outdoor living and recreation space. Interiors reflect modern lifestyle needs and tastes with sleek contemporary lines, vibrant feature colours and open plan living areas.

The Blue House’s ecologically friendly design minimises the impact upon the tropical environment. This allows visitors to enjoy and preserve the natural splendour of the tropical Port Douglas region. Its ‘light on the land’ design leaves this exotic natural environment intact for future generations.

External Facilities

• Indulge in the large, eco-friendly 40m² saltwater pool. Beach towels provided.
• Enjoy tropical breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the extensive timber deck complete with spectacular white sails for shade and comfort, dramatic lighting for night time entertaining, an eight-seater dining table and family-size gas barbecue.
• Relax outside in the sun loungers on the elevated deck amongst the many native flowering plants, palms and trees while watching exotic butterflies and birds throughout the changing tropical seasons.
• Park up to two vehicles, including large 4-wheel drives, under the white, water-proof sails of the shaded carport.
